One of my goals in life is to visit every presidential and first lady historical site in America. Join me on this quest! These sites are usually great for kids and can inspire your child to dream big!
See this checklist for all of the presidential sites in America (and one that is in Canada!). I have also included the first lady sites that are separate from the presidential sites. How many sites have you visited?
For more information on each site, you can go to each location’s web site or reference these books:
A great way to enhance your visit would be to listen to the “Presidential” podcast by The Washington Post before your visit. The podcasts are quite interesting and appropriate for older elementary-aged children and teens.
Be sure to follow along with me in my Booking It Through History: First Ladies project. Beginning in January, 2023, I am reading two books per month about each first lady, beginning with Martha Washington. Follow along here on the blog and at #BookingItThroughHistory.
To read books about the Presidents and First Ladies, check out my Presidential book list on Bookshop.org, an Amazon alternative that supports independent bookstores.
