I am not trying to be perfect with the challenge and just see it as a way to ensure I am focused on what I want to read! Each month, I will do a recap on the blog.

I finally finished this sweeping historical drama about the founding of the Centennial state, Colorado. It was perfect for my upcoming trip! I just love big, epic novels like this. And the history I learned is something that will stick with me forever.
Three of our most important first ladies are brought to life in this highly readable biography with vignettes about each woman. I really enjoyed it and thought it was a perfect mini-review of Martha, Abigail, and Dolley.
I thought this book was perfect to read as I watched the new Netflix adaptation of the Little House on the Prairie series (which I loved!). I found Kelly’s musings funny and insightful as she traveled to each Little House site dressed as Laura. I’d love to make a pilgrimage to the book sites, and this book inspired me to make it happen!
I absolutely loved this first book in the popular Timeless series, especially its emphasis on faith. Set in both colonial times and the early 20th century, I can’t decide which timeline I like best as they were both so good! I will definitely be reading the second in the series soon!
John Jakes is a favorite author from childhood, but I had never read this book. It’s surprising as it’s set in my favorite city, Charleston, and covers the city’s history, both good and bad, from the Revolutionary War through Reconstruction. For a long book, it reads quickly! I learned so much and my heart broke many times as the city and its people struggle through so much turmoil and strife.
Wow, this book is a must-read. Aaron Graham pastors a large church in Washington, DC and speaks the truth in love in this well-written book. I highly recommend it, and my Sunday School class is even studying it for the next eight weeks!

I am just a few days behind as I am finishing up Isaiah, my 22nd book of the Bible read this year!

I tried an audiobook of a classic, Northanger Abbey, but wasn’t thrilled with the narration. Instead, I will read the physical book and will have to try again with a different audiobook!
